This site is dedicated to the memory of James (Jim) Mearns.

Born in Bridlington, East Yorkshire on January 8th 1942, Jim was a keen sports fan and huge supporter of Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club. He was also a keen lover of music, with a particular passion for music from the 1950's and 1960's. His favourite singer was undoubtedly the American balladeer, Johnny Mathis. He would never waste an opportunity to talk to people about both Wolves and Mathis for as long as possible. Jim's greatest love though was undoubtedly his family. He was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather and his happiest times were spent with the people who loved him much in return. He was also a great friend to all who knew him and was well known for his sense of humour, warmth and generosity of spirit. He truely touched so many lives. He could light up a room just by being there and his passing has affected so many people. The sheer number of attendees at his beautiful funeral service was a testament to how popular and loved he was. Jim died of Motor Neurone Disease in February 2011. From diagnosis, this horrible disease robbed him of the things he enjoyed the most and Jim's family are committed to honouring his name and actively fundraising for the MND Association so that greater understanding and recognition of the disease can be achieved. This site hopes to provide a fitting tribute to Jim but additionally, it aims to encourage his memory to be kept alive through donations to the MNDA in his name. Eventually, it is to be hoped, a cure can be found for MND. If you wish to donate, please click on the 'Donate' button and attribute your donation to the 'The Jim Mearns Tribute Fund'. Any contribution large or small - is much appreciated. Thank you.
